Description
A refreshing and colorful salad combining fresh strawberries, mozzarella, and basil, drizzled with balsamic glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini or ciliegine)
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves
- 1/4 cup balsamic glaze
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: 1 tbsp honey for extra sweetness
Instructions
- Prepare the Ingredients: Start by hulling and slicing the strawberries into thin rounds. If you are using mozzarella balls, you can leave them whole or halve them if they are large.
- Layer the Salad: On a serving platter, arrange the sliced strawberries and mozzarella balls alternately. Tuck whole basil leaves in between the layers for a beautiful presentation.
- Drizzle with Balsamic: Generously drizzle balsamic glaze over the strawberries and mozzarella. If you love a hint of sweetness, add a drizzle of honey at this stage.
- Add Olive Oil: Drizzle the extra virgin olive oil over the top for richness and depth of flavor.
- Season: Sprinkle with salt and freshly cracked black pepper to enhance the flavors.
- Serve & Enjoy: This dish can be served immediately or chilled for about 20 minutes for flavors to meld. Enjoy as a fresh appetizer, light lunch, or side dish!
