Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Milk, warmed to 110°F
  • 2 1/4 tsp Active dry yeast, 1 packet
  • 2 Large eggs, room temperature
  • 4 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup White granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 10 TBSP Unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 16 oz Blueberries, fresh or frozen
  • 3/4 cup White granulated sugar (for jam)
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter (for filling)
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 TBSP Ground cinnamon
  • 4 oz Cream cheese, room temperature
  • 4 TBSP Unsalted butter (for icing)
  • 1 tsp Pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar, sifted
  • 3 TBSP Blueberry Jam

Instructions

  1. Heat the milk in the microwave for 1 minute until warmed to 110℉ and sprinkle the yeast on top. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, lightly beat the eggs and set aside.
  3. Sift the flour in a mixing bowl, add sugar and salt, then cut in the butter until pea-sized.
  4. Add the milk/yeast mixture and beaten eggs, mix with a dough hook on low then medium speed for 5 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 200°F. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in the oven for 1 hour.
  6. For the blueberry jam, add blueberries and sugar to a saucepan and heat on medium for 5-10 minutes until thickened. Store in the fridge to cool.
  7. In a bowl, beat 1/2 cup butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until smooth for the filling.
  8. Roll the dough into a large rectangle 1/4 inch thick and spread the cinnamon filling and blueberry jam over it.
  9. Roll the dough into a tight log, cut off uneven ends, and slice into 12 equal rolls.
  10. Place rolls in a greased 9X14 inch or 9X13 inch pan, cover, and let rise for 20 minutes.
  11. Preheat oven to 375℉, then bake rolls uncovered for 28-30 minutes until lightly golden.
  12. For the icing, beat butter and cream cheese until creamy. Mix in powered sugar, vanilla, and blueberry jam until smooth.
  13. Spread icing on warm rolls, let sit for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use a stand mixer with a dough hook for easier mixing.
  • Make sure the milk is at the right temperature for yeast activation.
  • Making the jam can be adjusted to your desired thickness.
  • For a more colorful icing, adjust the amount of blueberry jam.
