Description
Delicious blueberry cinnamon rolls filled with blueberry jam and topped with cream cheese icing, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

- 1 cup Milk, warmed to 110°F
- 2 1/4 tsp Active dry yeast, 1 packet
- 2 Large eggs, room temperature
- 4 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup White granulated sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
- 10 TBSP Unsalted butter, room temperature
- 16 oz Blueberries, fresh or frozen
- 3/4 cup White granulated sugar (for jam)
- 1/2 cup Unsalted butter (for filling)
- 1/2 cup Brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 TBSP Ground cinnamon
- 4 oz Cream cheese, room temperature
- 4 TBSP Unsalted butter (for icing)
- 1 tsp Pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup Powdered sugar, sifted
- 3 TBSP Blueberry Jam
Instructions
- Heat the milk in the microwave for 1 minute until warmed to 110℉ and sprinkle the yeast on top. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
- In a small bowl, lightly beat the eggs and set aside.
- Sift the flour in a mixing bowl, add sugar and salt, then cut in the butter until pea-sized.
- Add the milk/yeast mixture and beaten eggs, mix with a dough hook on low then medium speed for 5 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 200°F. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in the oven for 1 hour.
- For the blueberry jam, add blueberries and sugar to a saucepan and heat on medium for 5-10 minutes until thickened. Store in the fridge to cool.
- In a bowl, beat 1/2 cup butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until smooth for the filling.
- Roll the dough into a large rectangle 1/4 inch thick and spread the cinnamon filling and blueberry jam over it.
- Roll the dough into a tight log, cut off uneven ends, and slice into 12 equal rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased 9X14 inch or 9X13 inch pan, cover, and let rise for 20 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375℉, then bake rolls uncovered for 28-30 minutes until lightly golden.
- For the icing, beat butter and cream cheese until creamy. Mix in powered sugar, vanilla, and blueberry jam until smooth.
- Spread icing on warm rolls, let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use a stand mixer with a dough hook for easier mixing.
- Make sure the milk is at the right temperature for yeast activation.
- Making the jam can be adjusted to your desired thickness.
- For a more colorful icing, adjust the amount of blueberry jam.
