Ingredients

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined (or mix of crab and lobster)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon mustard powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1½ cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (optional)
  • chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil macaroni in salted water according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  3. Melt butter, whisk in flour until golden. Gradually add milk and cream, whisking until thickened. Add seasonings and cheeses, stir until smooth.
  4. Add cooked pasta and seafood to cheese sauce, stir to combine evenly.
  5. Transfer to a greased 9×9 baking dish, top with breadcrumbs. Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes until golden. Garnish with parsley and serve.

Notes

  • Breadcrumbs are optional for topping but add a nice crunch.
  • Feel free to substitute seafood with your preferred options.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
