Description

Crispy Baked Chicken Wings are a delicious, crunchy snack perfect for game day or any gathering.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings, split into drumettes and flats
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder (aluminum-free)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • ½ cup buffalo sauce or BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top. Lightly grease the rack with oil or non-stick spray.
  2. Pat chicken wings very dry with paper towels. The drier they are, the crispier they’ll get.
  3. In a large bowl, toss wings with baking powder, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, and cayenne until evenly coated.
  4. Arrange wings in a single layer on the wire rack.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes, flip, then bake another 20–25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  6. For sauced wings: in a large bowl, mix buffalo or BBQ sauce with melted butter. Toss hot wings in sauce until coated.
  7. Serve immediately with celery sticks, carrot sticks, and ranch or blue cheese dressing.

Notes

  • Make sure to use aluminum-free baking powder for the best results.
  • For extra heat, adjust the amount of cayenne pepper to your liking.
  • Wings can be served plain or sauced as desired.
