- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (plus more if needed)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (for breading)
- 2 eggs, beaten (for breading)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Oil for frying (canola or vegetable)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine cottage cheese, eggs, 1/4 cup flour, Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Stir until the mixture is thick enough to scoop; add a little more flour if needed.
- Scoop mixture into small balls or patties and place on a parchment-lined tray.
- Refrigerate for 20 minutes.
- Prepare a breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs.
- Roll each chilled ball in flour, dip in egg, then coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat.
- Fry each treat until golden on all sides, about 2–3 minutes per side.
- Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- You can bake these instead of frying: bake at 400°F for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Add fresh herbs or spices to customize the flavor.
- Great with marinara, ranch, or spicy mayo dips.
- To freeze: flash freeze after frying and store in a freezer-safe bag.
- Reheat in oven or air fryer for best texture.
