- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup confectioners’ sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt

- 1 large egg
- 2–3 tablespoons milk
- 1 cup vanilla cake mix
- 1/2 cup chocolate cake mix
- 1/2 cup strawberry cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup whipped cream
- Fresh strawberries, sliced
- Chocolate shavings
- Crushed nuts (optional)
- Sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, confectioners’ sugar, salt, and baking soda. Mix until well blended.
- Add the melted butter and mix in the egg. Gradually add milk, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together but isn’t sticky.
- Divide the dough into small balls, about the size of a golf ball. Roll each ball into flat circles, about 1/8 inch thick.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, cook each dough circle for about 1-2 minutes on each side until firm and slightly crispy.
- While the dough is still warm, carefully shape each piece into a taco shell form. Allow them to cool completely.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry cake mixes in separate bowls.
- In each bowl, mix in the corresponding eggs, milk, and vegetable oil until smooth.
- Pour the batters into the baking pan in alternating layers or in swirls to create a marbled effect.
- Bake in preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool completely in the pan before slicing into small squares or using a cookie cutter for shapes.
- Crumble the cooled Neapolitan cake into small pieces.
- Fill each crispy taco shell with a mix of the crumbled cake, whipped cream, and fresh sliced strawberries. Top off with chocolate shavings, crushed nuts, and sprinkles if desired.
- Drizzle some additional whipped cream or chocolate sauce on top before serving.
Notes
- Allow the taco shells to cool completely to maintain their shape.
- You can customize the fillings with different fruits or toppings.
