Description

A hearty and comforting meal made with kielbasa sausage and tender beans, perfect for a cozy gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (16-ounce) package of Polska Kielbasa, sliced into rounds
  • 4 (14-17 ounce) cans of pork n’ beans
  • 1 small sweet onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon coarse ground garlic salt
  • 1 tablespoon dry ground mustard
  • 3 tablespoons blackstrap molasses
  • 1/2 cup ketchup

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Crock-Pot: Place the lid on your Crock-Pot and turn it on to high heat.
  2. Cook the Kielbasa: Slice the Polska Kielbasa into round pieces and place them in the bottom of the Crock-Pot. Let them cook for about 45 minutes, then flip the pieces and cook for an additional 15 minutes.
  3. Add the Remaining Ingredients: Pour in the pork n’ beans, then add the chopped onion, minced garlic, brown sugar, garlic salt, ground mustard, molasses, and ketchup.
  4. Stir It Together: Use a wooden spoon or spatula to stir everything together, ensuring the kielbasa is evenly distributed throughout the beans.
  5. Cook Low and Slow: Leave the Crock-Pot on high heat and let the beans cook until they’re bubbling, which should take about 4-5 hours. Stir occasionally for even cooking.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Once the beans are ready, turn the Crock-Pot to low or keep warm until it’s time to serve. Serve hot with your favorite sides and enjoy!

Notes

  • This dish pairs well with cornbread or a side salad.
  • Feel free to adjust the sweetness by adding more or less brown sugar.
  • For a spicier kick, consider adding chopped jalapeños or red pepper flakes.
