- 1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
- 1 bag (19 oz) frozen cheese tortellini
- 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- ¼ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the Italian sausage, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks. Once cooked, drain excess grease.
- In your crockpot, combine the cooked sausage, frozen cheese tortellini, marinara sauce, and chicken broth. Stir to coat the tortellini.
- Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 4-5 hours or on high for 2-3 hours until the tortellini is tender.
- In the last 30 minutes of cooking, sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses on top and cover to allow them to melt.
- Taste and season with salt and pepper before serving. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
