Description
Cucumber Feta Salad is a refreshing dish that combines crisp cucumbers, tangy feta cheese, and fresh herbs for a delightful addition to any meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups cucumber, thinly sliced
- ½ small red onion, thinly sliced
- ¾ cup crumbled feta cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Start by washing and slicing your cucumbers thinly—if you prefer a crunch, go a bit thicker, but thinner slices create a delicate texture. Peeling and deseeding standard cucumbers can help reduce bitterness.
- Slice the red onion as thin as possible. Soaking the onion slices in cold water for 10 minutes can reduce the intensity of the flavor.
- In a small bowl or jar, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, a pinch of salt, and black pepper to create the dressing.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cucumber, onion, chopped dill, and feta. Drizzle the dressing over the top and gently toss everything together.
- If you have time, chill the salad in the fridge for 15–30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the cucumbers to become crisp.
Notes
- This salad can be served immediately or chilled for better flavor.
- Use English cucumbers for best results, as they do not require peeling.
