Description
An easy and impressive appetizer featuring creamy burrata cheese topped with olives, capers, and a fragrant garlic olive oil.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces burrata cheese
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, grated
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
- 1/3 cup sliced, pitted Castelvetrano olives
- 2 tablespoons capers, drained
- 2 teaspoons lemon zest
- 2 tablespoons toasted pine nuts
- Kosher salt
- sliced French baguette for serving
Instructions
- Gently pull the burrata apart and place it on a serving platter.
- Add olive oil, garlic, and thyme to a saucepan. Cook over low heat for 10 minutes until the garlic gets fragrant. Don’t let the oil simmer or let the garlic brown!
- Let the olive oil cool for about 5 minutes until it comes to room temperature.
- Pour garlic olive oil over the burrata.
- Sprinkle olives, capers, lemon zest, pine nuts, and a large pinch of salt in an even layer across the burrata.
- Serve with sliced French bread and enjoy!
Notes
- Use this recipe as a blueprint and make it your own! If you don’t fancy olives, leave them out and add more capers!
- If you aren’t a big fan of lemon, omit it and try sun-dried tomatoes instead!
- Burrata pairs beautifully with many different flavors, allowing for a personalized twist on this appetizer.
- Ensure you use the freshest ingredients to let the burrata shine.
