A quick and flavorful recipe for Hoisin Beef Noodles that combines tender beef with vibrant vegetables and a rich hoisin sauce.

- ½ lb (225g) beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- ¼ cup hoisin sauce
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce (or extra soy sauce for a vegan option)
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- ¼ cup water
- 8 oz (225g) rice noodles or lo mein noodles
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 cup snap peas (or broccoli, carrots, or bok choy)
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- Marinate the beef: In a bowl, toss the beef slices with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Let sit for 10 minutes.
- Prepare the noodles: Cook the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Make the sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, honey, red pepper flakes, and water. Set aside.
- Cook the beef: Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the beef and sear for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- Stir-fry the veggies: In the same pan, add garlic, ginger, bell pepper, and snap peas. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until slightly tender.
- Combine everything: Add the cooked noodles, beef, and sauce to the pan. Toss everything together for 2 minutes until well coated and heated through.
- Serve & garnish: Top with green onions and sesame seeds. Enjoy!

- For a vegan option, substitute oyster sauce with additional soy sauce.
- Feel free to use other vegetables like broccoli, carrots, or bok choy.
