Delicious and Juicy Chicken Shawarma with Garlic Sauce
Ingredients

- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon ground paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon ground coriander
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 4 garlic cloves, finely grated or minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together olive oil, cumin, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, pepper, salt, coriander, garlic, and lemon juice.
- Add chicken thighs and coat thoroughly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, ideally up to 8 hours.
- Preheat a grill pan or oven to medium-high heat. Grill or roast chicken for 5–6 minutes per side or 25–30 minutes in the oven at 425°F, flipping once.
- Let chicken rest for 5 minutes, then slice into thin strips.
- In a bowl, mix Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, garlic, lemon juice, and salt to make the garlic sauce. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
- Serve chicken in pita wraps, rice bowls, or salads, topped with garlic sauce and desired toppings.
