A flavorful and easy one-pan dish of smoked sausage and rice with a sweet and tangy BBQ flavor.

- 1 lb (450g) smoked sausage, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice, rinsed
- 2 1/4 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce (sweet and tangy style)
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add sliced sausage and brown on both sides (2–3 mins per side). Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add rice and toast for 1–2 mins, stirring often.
- Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Add chicken broth, BBQ sauce, and soy sauce. Mix until fully combined.
- Return sausage to the pan and nestle into the rice.
- Bring to a light simmer, cover, reduce heat to low, and cook for 18–20 minutes until rice is tender and liquid absorbed.
- Remove from heat and let rest, covered, for 5 minutes.
- Fluff rice, garnish as desired, and serve hot.

- Feel free to adjust the spices to suit your taste.
- This dish can be garnished with fresh herbs for extra flavor.
