A flavorful and easy one-skillet dish featuring Cajun-spiced sausage, honey, and rice.

- 14 oz smoked sausage, sliced into rounds
- 1 cup long-grain white rice, rinsed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 cups chicken broth (low sodium preferred)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add sliced sausage and sear until browned on both sides, about 3–4 minutes per side.
- Stir in minced garlic and Cajun seasoning; cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add rinsed rice and stir to coat in spices and sausage drippings.
- Pour in chicken broth and bring to a low boil.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18–20 minutes, or until rice is tender and broth is absorbed.
- Remove from heat, drizzle honey over the dish, and gently stir to combine.
- Garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- Feel free to adjust the Cajun seasoning to suit your spice preference.
- For a spicier dish, add some diced jalapeños or hot sauce.
- This dish can be made in advance and reheats well.
