Description
A delicious and easy one-skillet dish combining spicy sausage and pasta with a sweet and smoky BBQ sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz Rotini Pasta
- 12 oz Spicy Sausage (Andouille or Italian), sliced
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 cup BBQ Sauce (smoky or honey-based)
- 2 tbsp Honey
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1/2 tsp Chili Powder or Cayenne Pepper (adjust to taste)
- Salt & Pepper, to taste
- Fresh Parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the rotini pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned and caramelized, about 5–7 minutes. Remove sausage from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add a bit more olive oil if needed. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant and golden.
- Add BBQ sauce, honey, paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir well and simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return the cooked sausage to the skillet along with the drained pasta. Toss everything until the pasta and sausage are evenly coated.
- Sprinkle fresh parsley over the top and serve hot. Enjoy!
Notes
- Adjust the level of spice by modifying the amount of chili powder or cayenne pepper.
- For a smokier flavor, use a smoky BBQ sauce.
