A delicious twist on the classic sloppy joes, featuring the flavors of a Philly cheese steak.
Ingredients

- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 cup diced yellow onions
- 1 cup diced green peppers
- 1 cup water
- 0.87 oz brown gravy mix
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 4 Brioche buns
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F for toasting the buns.
- Dump the ground beef into a large sauté pan over medium-high heat. Add the diced onions and diced peppers to the pan and stir well. Crumble the ground beef well as it cooks.
- Once the ground beef is fully cooked, drain the grease from the pan.
- Add the water, brown gravy mix, salt, and pepper to the pan. Stir well and leave to simmer and thicken for 3 minutes.
- Stir well again and reduce the heat to low.
- Place the buns in a single layer on a baking sheet. Place the baking sheet in the oven and toast the buns for 4-5 minutes.
- Remove the sloppy joe pan from the heat and add the shredded cheese to the pan. Stir just until the cheese is melted.
- Scoop the sloppy joe mixture onto the toasted buns. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
- Feel free to add other toppings like jalapenos or mushrooms.
- You can substitute the ground beef with turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
