Description

Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls are a delicious twist on a classic dish, combining the flavors of Philly cheesesteak in a crispy, fried wrapper.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ribeye steak or ground beef, thinly sliced or crumbled
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
  • Optional: 1/2 cup diced bell peppers or mushrooms
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with olive oil or butter.
  2. Sauté diced onions until soft and lightly golden.
  3. Add beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until fully browned. Add optional veggies if using.
  4. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  5. Lay out an egg roll wrapper in a diamond shape.
  6. Place about 2 tablespoons of filling in the center and sprinkle with provolone cheese.
  7. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, tuck in the sides, and roll tightly. Seal the edge with water.
  8. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep skillet.
  9. Fry egg rolls in batches for 3–5 minutes, until golden and crispy.
  10. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate and serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, consider adding jalapeños to the filling.
  • These egg rolls can also be baked instead of fried for a healthier version.
