Description

Philly Cheesesteak Stuffed Cheesy Breadsticks are delicious, cheesy treats filled with tender beef, peppers, and onions, all wrapped in golden, fluffy bread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 lb thinly sliced beef (like ribeye or flank steak)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef Filling: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced beef and cook until browned, about 2-3 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, sauté the onions and bell peppers until tender, about 5 minutes. Return the beef to the skillet, add the garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  3. Assemble the Breadsticks: Roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle, about 10×14 inches. Cut the dough into 8 equal strips. Place a small amount of the beef and pepper mixture along the center of each strip. Top with a generous sprinkle of mozzarella and provolone cheese. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges tightly to seal. Roll the breadstick gently to shape it, ensuring the seam is underneath.
  4. Bake the Breadsticks: Place the stuffed breadsticks on the prepared baking sheet. Brush them with melted butter and sprinkle with Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese, if using. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
  5. Serve: Let the breadsticks cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm with marinara sauce, ranch dressing, or cheese sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • If desired, you can substitute the beef with chicken or a plant-based alternative for a different flavor.
  • Make sure to seal the edges of the breadsticks well to prevent the filling from leaking during baking.
  • These breadsticks can be frozen after baking and reheated in the oven for a quick snack later.
