Ingredients
- Boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- Plain yogurt
- Lemon juice
- Garlic, minced
- Ginger, grated
- Garam masala
- Turmeric
- Paprika
- Chili powder
- Salt and pepper
- Butter
- Onion, finely chopped
- Tomato paste or tomato purée
- Heavy cream
- Fresh cilantro (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Mix yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, and spices in a bowl, then add the chicken and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook the marinated chicken until browned and cooked through. Remove it from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same pan, sauté chopped onions in more butter until soft.
- Add tomato paste and cook for a couple of minutes to deepen the flavor.
- Pour in the cream, add a bit more garam masala and salt, and stir until the sauce is smooth and slightly thickened.
- Return the cooked chicken to the pan and simmer everything together for a few minutes for the flavors to combine.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot over rice or with naan.
