Description
Delicious Sweet Air Fryer Churro Bites that are crispy, fluffy, and coated in cinnamon sugar.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup and 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup white sugar (for coating)
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder (for coating)
Instructions
- In a pan, combine water, butter, salt, and sugar and bring to a boil over high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat and gradually add in the flour, stirring continuously until the dough comes together smoothly.
- Turn off the heat and remove the pan from the stove.
- Transfer the dough into a large mixing bowl and let it cool down for about 4-5 minutes.
- Add in the egg and vanilla essence, then use an electric hand mixer to combine until smooth.
- Transfer the churro dough into a piping bag.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and spray the basket with nonstick cooking spray.
- Carefully pipe bite-sized churros into the basket, ensuring not to overcrowd them.
- Lightly brush the churros with butter and cook them in the air fryer for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
- In a shallow bowl, mix together white sugar and cinnamon powder for coating.
- Once the churros are cooked, transfer them directly into the cinnamon sugar mixture and toss gently to coat.
Notes
- For variation, you can drop the dough by the spoonful instead of piping.
- Brush churros with melted butter before coating for better adhesion of cinnamon sugar.
- Depending on the size of your air fryer, work in batches to ensure even cooking.
