Description

A rich and decadent Texas Chocolate Pecan Pie with a chocolate cookie crust and a gooey chocolate filling, studded with pecans.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1½ cups chocolate cookie crumbs (or use graham crackers + 2 tbsp cocoa)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Optional topping: whole pecans, chocolate chunks, ganache drizzle

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix cookie crumbs and melted butter. Press into a parchment-lined 9×9-inch baking pan and chill while preparing the filling.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk eggs. Add corn syrup, sugars, cocoa powder, vanilla, and salt. Mix until smooth and glossy.
  4. Fold in the chopped pecans and chocolate chips evenly throughout the mixture.
  5. Pour the filling over the crust. Sprinkle additional pecans generously on top.
  6. Bake for 35–40 minutes or until edges are set and center is slightly jiggly. Let cool completely.
  7. Top with ganache or melted chocolate, press in whole pecans and sprinkle chocolate chunks. Chill until set before slicing.

Notes

  • Ensure the pie is completely cool before slicing for clean cuts.
  • This pie can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • For an extra chocolatey flavor, use dark chocolate chips or add cocoa powder to the crust.
